Mindful Habits to Practice Everyday In The Morning

Wake up gently. 

 Instead of jolting yourself awake with a blaring alarm, try using a sunrise alarm clock that gradually increases the light in your room. Or, set your alarm for a few minutes earlier so you can wake up naturally without feeling rushed 

Drink a glass of water.  

Hydration is important first thing in the morning, as it helps to rehydrate your body after a night's sleep. Aim for a glass of cool water as soon as you wake up

Stretch or do yoga. 

 Gentle stretching or yoga can help to improve your circulation, loosen your muscles, and wake up your body. There are many yoga poses that are specifically designed for the morning.

Practice deep breathing. 

 Take a few minutes to focus on your breath. This can help to calm your mind and body and prepare you for the day ahead. There are many different breathing exercises that you can try 

Set intentions for the day. 

 Take a few moments to think about what you want to achieve for the day. This will help you to stay focused and motivated.

Write in a gratitude journal.  

Take a few minutes to write down three things you are grateful for. This can help to start your day with a positive attitude

Listen to calming music. Put on some calming music that will help you to relax and focus 

Eat a healthy breakfast. 

 A healthy breakfast will give you the energy you need to start your day. Avoid sugary cereals and processed foods. Opt for whole grains, fruits, vegetables, and lean protein.

Get some sunlight 

 Spending a few minutes in the morning sunlight can help to regulate your circadian rhythm and improve your mood.

Avoid checking your phone first thing. 

 It's tempting to reach for your phone as soon as you wake up, but this can actually be counterproductive. The emails, texts, and social media updates can wait. Give yourself some time to focus on yourself and your own thoughts before you start engaging with the outside world 

Declutter your environment.  

Take a few minutes to declutter your bedroom or bathroom. This will help you to start your day feeling organized and calm.

Smile at yourself in the mirror. This may sound silly, but it can actually help to boost your mood
